10.5.7 Hits the Streets

Tuesday, 12 May 2009

It’s been a long time coming but Mac OS X 10.5.7 has now been released in both client and server versions.

There are a lot of quiet bug fixes and other improvements. One of the obvious ones that I have been waiting for is regarding a bug that I have mentioned before referring to ByHost settings. Workgroup Manager would not allow ByHost preferences to be added if they were based on the system’s UUID rather than the old MAC based system. Getting Workgroup Manager to accept ByHost settings required changing them to look like MAC based plists. Now, listed as a specific fix in 10.5.7 we have:

  • client management using a hardware UUID

That should make things a little easier.
