Lucid Nonsense

Wolfram|Alpha

Wolfram|Alpha, the new “Computational knowledge engine” from the creators of Mathematica has now gone live. Something not quite like a search engine, because of it’s design and different approach to search it gives some pretty impressive results when searching for data-based queries. Typing in “Snow Leopard ZFS”, for example, won’t return any results, unlike Google. Typing in “sunset Middlesbrough” however will give return the exact information you’re after in a very clear and concise way. There are some examples to try at the site and it’s definitely worth a look.
