The Rescue Centre is a new offering that we hope to have live and ready to go within the next few weeks. It is something a little different from our normal approach, but we think that for a certain section of the Mac market it should prove very popular.
We normally offer support based on contracts or via invoiced on-site callouts on an ad-hoc basis. This is a very cost effective, and highly valued service for our core customers, who may often be IT departments with no on-site Mac expertise, or small businesses and home users who would rather have a managed support option that they can rely on when needed. Sometimes however an ongoing support contract may not be the best option for everybody.
The Rescue Centre will offer opportunities for people who just need single incident support over email or via the phone and will give people an option to pay with a credit card or online account system, for instance Google Checkout or PayPal. This is an alternative to setting up a credit account and being invoiced for a full term of remote support.
This service is intended for people who may be quite confident managing their Mac or Macs and simply want help with a single problem they are struggling with. We will be offering Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server based single incident options. Check back soon for more details and for prices.
